Job description
Overview
We are seeking a commercially driven Category Manager to join a leading B2B and e-commerce brand specializing in bathroom products. This new role offers significant influence over product development, pricing strategy, and overall commercial performance. You will collaborate with commercial, estimating, and sales teams to identify market opportunities, support new product launches, and drive the category's growth.
Responsibilities
- Serve as the internal authority on a range of showering products.
- Lead new product introductions from initial concept through to market release, ensuring alignment with category goals.
- Track competitor activities and uncover market opportunities.
- Manage OEM and tender submissions, including customized product solutions.
- Analyze pricing, margins, and breakeven points to guide commercial decision-making.
- Oversee portfolio performance, category planning, and product lifecycle management.
- Collect market intelligence via trade visits and customer interaction.
- Effectively relay technical and commercial insights to stakeholders within the organisation.
- Represent the brand at trade shows and client meetings throughout the UK and Ireland.
Requirements
- Proven experience in category or product management within a B2B or trade context.
- Strong commercial acumen with understanding of pricing structures, margins, and trade agreements.
- Advanced analytical skills supported by proficiency in Excel.
- Excellent communication skills capable of influencing internal teams.
- Highly organised, managing multiple projects simultaneously.
- Experience in new product development and product lifecycle oversight.
- Familiarity with PIM or product data management systems is desirable.
- Background in bathroom products, construction, or consumer durables is a plus.
