Category Development Manager

Role Overview

The Category Manager plays a key part in uncovering growth opportunities by converting market data and shopper insights into practical business recommendations. Working alongside internal teams and customer partners, this position helps shape category strategy, strengthens collaboration, and supports solutions aligned to customer and consumer needs. The ideal candidate brings strong communication, analytical thinking, and relationship-building skills, along with experience in areas such as sales, pricing, merchandising, assortment planning, negotiation, or category management.

This role may also be located in Denver, CO or Dallas, TX.

Category Development

In this part of the role, you will build trusted relationships with customer partners and act as a reliable source for category insight and growth opportunities. You will deepen expertise in category trends, shopper behavior, competitive movement, and product performance across both physical stores and online channels. The work includes supporting assortment, merchandising, pricing, promotion, and new item strategies that help grow the category. You will analyze information from multiple sources to spot opportunities, risks, and performance gaps, then turn that analysis into clear recommendations. Collaboration with Sales, Marketing, Insights, eCommerce, and other cross-functional teams will be important for planning, tracking performance, and driving growth initiatives. You will also present insights and recommendations in a clear, persuasive way to both customers and internal stakeholders.

Category Management

This role requires building a strong understanding of the beverage category and broader market dynamics. You will use sales, consumer, market, and retailer data to identify growth opportunities and support strategic decisions. The position includes leading category reviews and making recommendations on assortment, pricing, merchandising, and promotional effectiveness. You will also support shelf and merchandising optimization efforts to improve the experience for customers and shoppers.

Analysis

You will examine new product performance, sales patterns, product mix, and merchandising effectiveness. The role involves creating and maintaining dashboards, scorecards, and reporting tools that monitor performance and key metrics. You will deliver tailored analysis, trend reporting, and business recommendations for both internal and external audiences. Staying current on industry trends and category management best practices will be important for continuously improving your impact and capabilities.

Eligibility

Salary and Incentives

The base pay for this role is estimated at $92,000 to $138,000 annually, plus cash incentives. Final offers may differ depending on work experience, and the pay range may be updated over time.
