Role Overview

Aspect is seeking casual teaching staff for their Central Coast School in Terrigal, NSW, and satellite classes nearby. This role offers a rewarding opportunity to make a meaningful impact daily by fostering tailored learning environments for autistic children using evidence-informed best practices. Teachers work alongside dedicated aides and multidisciplinary teams including school psychologists, speech therapists, and occupational therapists to deliver individualized educational programs.

Key Responsibilities

• Support and facilitate a customized learning experience for students on the autism spectrum in small class settings.
• Collaborate closely with teachers, teacher aides, families, and allied professionals to implement effective education strategies.
• Engage with a multidisciplinary team to continuously develop quality learning plans for each student.

Qualifications and Requirements

• Must hold valid NESA teacher registration for NSW.
• Preferred: Qualifications in Special Education.
• Experience with students on the autism spectrum or intellectual disabilities is desirable.
• Must have NSW Working with Children Check clearance for paid employment.
• A current driver's license relevant to the school’s location may be required; Light Rigid (LR) driver’s license is preferred.
• Provision of an international police clearance may be necessary.

Additional Information & Benefits

• Competitive casual hourly pay ranging from $59.27 to $74.01 including allowances and casual loading, plus superannuation.
• Full-time equivalent salary ranges between $90,100 to $127,281 annually depending on qualifications and experience, including a special education allowance of $3,699 per year (pro rata for part-time/casual).

About Aspect Central Coast School

The school caters to around 140 autistic students aged 4 to 18 across two main campuses in Terrigal and six satellite classes hosted in local Catholic schools.
