Job Overview
We are looking for a dependable and customer-oriented Cashier to become part of our team in Montego Bay. This role involves accurately managing transactions, handling both cash and electronic payments, and providing friendly and efficient service to customers. The ideal candidate will demonstrate strong attention to detail, integrity, and professionalism while working in a dynamic, fast-paced environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Verify and reconcile deposit slips with the cash collected daily.
- Prepare daily deposit slips and corresponding CBS reports, ensuring timely submission to the Accounts Receivables team at the head office.
- Address and resolve any discrepancies flagged in the CBS report promptly.
- Manage the upload of shipment manifests for the Montego Bay location.
- Issue clearance documents and prepare amendments as required.
- Identify import duties that must be paid and assist in scanning necessary DDP/DTP documentation.
- Provide comprehensive information relating to DTP requests and support broker agents with duty-related queries.
- Carry out any additional tasks assigned by management.
Required Skills and Qualifications
- Strong written and verbal communication abilities, with excellent telephone etiquette and customer service skills.
- Good interpersonal skills for interacting effectively with colleagues and clients.
- Proficient in analytical thinking, problem-solving, and negotiation.
- Self-motivated, organized, and capable of working well under pressure.
- Associate Degree in Business Administration or Logistics.
- Familiarity with Microsoft Office applications including Word, Excel, Outlook, and Teams.
- Experience using accounting or cashiering software.
- At least two years of relevant work experience, preferably in a cashier role.
- Possession of a clean police record is mandatory.
