Job description
Role Overview
This position is for a cashier at Changi Airport, supporting a retail environment that operates across rotating shifts from 6:00 AM to 1:00 AM.
Working Schedule
Full-time staff work 9.5 hours per shift, which includes a 1-hour unpaid break, and the standard weekly commitment is 42.5 hours. A permanent part-time option is also available, with shifts of at least 4 or 6 hours, a minimum of 5 working days each week, and a required commitment of at least 6 months.
Compensation
The monthly salary for full-time employment is between 2,000 and 2,400 Singapore dollars. Permanent part-time pay is 13 Singapore dollars per hour.
Key Duties
In this role, you will operate the point-of-sale system, accept payments in various forms including foreign currency, and complete cash balancing at the end of each shift. You will also welcome customers, answer questions, manage complaints professionally, and support sales through product promotion. Keeping the cashier area tidy, stocked, and organized is part of the job, along with routine housekeeping to maintain a safe and clean workplace. Other tasks may be assigned as needed.
Requirements
Applicants should have at least an N-Level qualification or an equivalent credential. Prior experience is not necessary because training will be provided. The role calls for good communication and interpersonal ability, a customer-focused attitude, basic computer literacy, and comfort working retail and rotating shifts. You should also be comfortable handling liquor and tobacco products and must be at least 21 years old in line with Tobacco Act requirements.
