Position Summary

RVS is looking to fill a continuing full-time Caretaker I role that entails performing routine cleaning services at Bert Church High School, situated in Airdrie, Alberta. This position requires working 40 hours per week, Monday through Friday, primarily during the day shift, and may involve duties at multiple locations. Reporting to the Head Building Operator (HBO), the caretaker is responsible for upkeep that ensures the school facilities and grounds are maintained in a clean, orderly, and sanitary condition.

Key Responsibilities

• Execute detailed and varied cleaning duties with attention to quality and thoroughness.
• Operate independently while also contributing effectively as part of the caretaking team.
• Maintain a high standard of workmanship and pride in task completion.
• Conduct scheduled building security inspections as directed by the HBO.
• Ensure sidewalks, steps, and entrances remain clear of ice and snow for safe access.
• Adhere to Occupational Health & Safety, WHMIS guidelines, and any related legal standards.

Qualifications and Experience

• Prior experience in cleaning roles is advantageous.
• Certifications related to cleaning procedures or organizations are beneficial.
• Experience working within a school division environment is preferred.
• An equivalent combination of education and related experience may be considered.

Skills and Knowledge

• Comprehensive understanding of correct cleaning techniques and protocols.
• Ability to work effectively autonomously and collaboratively within a team.
• Strong written and verbal communication capabilities.
• Proficient use of Microsoft Office applications and online platforms.
