During your retraining period, you will receive a competitive salary, and after completing your training, you'll work independently as a full member of our team.

We offer a secure workplace, a supportive and dependable team, and the unique opportunity to work outdoors along the rail network. Together, we advance the railway’s progress.

We are currently recruiting for a career change opportunity as Specialist for Construction Site Safety within DB Fahrwegdienste GmbH at locations including Altenburg, Bitterfeld, Falkenberg/Elster, Halle (Saale), Lutherstadt Wittenberg, Nordhausen, Sangerhausen, or Torgau.

Retraining Overview

  • Over approximately one year, you will gradually acquire all necessary skills for this profession.
  • Training alternates between theoretical instruction and hands-on practice, allowing you to apply what you learn immediately.
  • Experienced colleagues will guide you throughout, making it easier to enter a completely new field.
  • Theory classes are organized near your residence, while practical sessions typically take place in your future work area.
  • You will earn a guaranteed salary from the outset.

Post-Training Duties

  • Collaborate within a team to ensure no person is harmed at our rail construction sites.
  • Warn track-area workers of approaching trains using a variety of signals and modern warning systems.
  • Enforce safety regulations and conduct introductions for new safety personnel.
  • Coordinate smoothly with various contacts to maintain workflow efficiency.
  • Independently manage and oversee safety measures at construction sites.

Candidate Profile

  • Minimum age of 18 and completion of secondary school (Hauptschulabschluss).
  • No prior experience is required, but you should be confident in ensuring safety and be reliable.
  • Enjoy working outdoors in all weather conditions.
  • Proficient German language skills, both spoken and written.
  • Flexible with night shifts, weekend work, and varying locations.
  • Possess a class B driving license and have access to personal transportation.

Applications from already certified safety specialists and supervisors are also welcome.

We are committed to equal opportunity for all candidates with equal qualifications, promoting diversity and collaboration within our teams. We welcome applications regardless of gender, nationality, ethnic or social origin, religion or belief, disability, age, duration of unemployment, as well as sexual orientation and identity.

Benefits

  • Employees can access monthly deals on the DB travel market including discounts on mobile phone contracts, insurance, hotel chains, fashion, and lifestyle products.
  • We maintain workplaces across every federal state, in large cities and smaller communities alike, ensuring proximity to home.
  • Enjoy a secure long-term perspective through permanent employment in a forward-looking corporation.
