Role Overview
We are seeking a proactive and client-focused Car Buyer to assist our procurement efforts by liaising directly with vehicle sellers, negotiating competitive purchase prices, and successfully closing transactions. This function integrates sales expertise, negotiation skills, and market awareness to help build a strong inventory portfolio.
Key Responsibilities
- Communicate with individual car sellers to understand vehicle specifics and seller expectations, as well as with internal car inspectors to accurately assess vehicle conditions that influence pricing discussions.
- Negotiate price terms effectively with sellers to achieve commercially favorable agreements.
- Oversee the entire deal process including finalizing agreements and managing required documentation.
- Establish and maintain trust-based relationships with sellers to facilitate smooth transactions.
- Assess vehicles considering market demand, condition, and competitive pricing benchmarks.
- Collaborate with pricing and operations teams internally to ensure seamless execution of the procurement workflow.
- Keep detailed records of interactions, negotiations, and deal progression with sellers.
- Ensure fast lead-to-deal turnaround time to enhance operational efficiency.
Requirements
- Demonstrable sales experience, ideally within multinational firms.
- Previous exposure to the automotive sector is highly advantageous.
- Excellent communication, negotiation, and deal-closing capabilities.
- Capacity to handle numerous interactions while maintaining high-quality communication.
- Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to manage objections effectively.
- Self-driven, target-oriented individual comfortable working in a dynamic environment.
Preferred Skills
- Knowledge of used car pricing structures and market trends.
- Experience in procurement, sourcing, or supply-side sales functions.
- Proficiency with CRM platforms and sales tracking software.
