Role Overview

This full-time, on-site position located in Accra entails commanding Embraer 145 and Embraer 190 aircraft on scheduled and charter flights within AWA's network. Key responsibilities include flight planning and briefing, conducting pre-flight inspections, and ensuring all safety and regulatory standards are rigorously followed. The captain leads the flight crew throughout all flight stages, monitors aircraft performance continuously, liaises effectively with air traffic control and ground teams, and makes decisive in-flight decisions to ensure safe and efficient operations. The role requires exemplary leadership, professionalism, and serving as a positive ambassador for AWA to crew, passengers, and stakeholders.

Qualifications and Experience

• Possession of a valid Airline Transport Pilot License (ATPL) with relevant type ratings for Embraer 145 and/or Embraer 190, complying with medical and currency regulations.
• Strong skills in flight operations, including advanced aircraft handling, navigation, flight planning, and compliance with standard operating procedures.
• Deep understanding of aviation safety, regulatory compliance in line with Ghana Civil Aviation Authority and international standards, and operational risk management.
• Proven leadership capabilities in crew management and cockpit resource management (CRM), with sound decision-making under pressure.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills for collaboration with crew, ground personnel, air traffic control, and passengers.
• Extensive experience in commercial airline operations, preferably in West Africa or similar regional contexts.
• Commitment to professionalism, integrity, situational awareness, and ongoing training and performance enhancement.
• Readiness to work on-site in Accra based on roster schedules, including weekends and public holidays as required.
