Job description
About the Role
Rainfall Ventures is hiring a Capital Markets professional to support the financing backbone behind a large and growing lending business. In this position, you will help manage warehouse facilities, coordinate loan sale activity, and contribute to the creation of new institutional funding sources.
This role sits at the intersection of structured finance, fintech, and technology. You will partner with leadership, banks, investors, and major financial institutions while helping scale a lending platform in a fast-moving startup setting. The position calls for someone who can build financial models, evaluate complex transactions, and also handle hands-on operational work.
What You Will Do
- Oversee the day-to-day administration of existing warehouse lines, including drawdowns, monitoring, and reporting.
- Handle forward-flow loan sale partnerships.
- Coordinate with senior leaders to manage external relationships with funding partners, investors, attorneys, and auditors.
- Assess how different financing approaches, such as warehouse facilities, loan sales, and ABS securitizations, affect broader business objectives.
- Maintain the accuracy and integrity of loan and payment tapes, as well as month-end reporting.
- Look for ways to simplify or automate workflows so the team can support rapid growth.
- Work across teams to build the technology and risk framework that supports the capital markets function.
- Act as the capital markets point of contact for new product initiatives by evaluating financeability and data/reporting needs.
Qualifications
- At least 2 years of experience in investment banking, at an ABS issuer, or with a leading structured finance accounting firm.
- A bachelor’s degree is required.
- Prior exposure to capital-intensive fintech is considered an advantage.
- Ability to think strategically while also managing detailed execution.
- Strong relationship-building and communication skills for internal and external stakeholders.
- Comfort working resourcefully in a fast-changing, high-growth environment.
- Advanced Excel proficiency, including solid financial modeling ability.
Why Join
- Opportunity to join an early team at a high-growth YC startup.
- Backed by well-known investors, including Y Combinator and Union Square Ventures, along with prominent angels.
- Work in a close-knit, high-energy team with substantial ownership and learning opportunities.
- Chance to collaborate with experienced founders and help bring B2B commerce online while supporting small business owners.
Compensation
The base salary for this role starts at $95,000 and can go up to $130,000 per year, plus bonus, equity, and benefits. Final pay will depend on the candidate’s skills and experience.
