Overview
The Cambridge IGCSE Programme Coordinator will oversee the Year 10 to Year 11 IGCSE curriculum across all examination subjects at ISU. This role includes managing the academic calendar, coordinating mock exams, supervising subject leads, and administering Cambridge International Examinations (CIE) registrations.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage and maintain the Year 10 and Year 11 academic timetable, ensure exam registration deadlines for CIE are met, and handle candidate registration processes.
- Supervise a team of 14 subject leads involved in delivering the IGCSE curriculum and coordinate weekly meetings focused on subject areas.
- Review and assure the quality of mock examination papers and assess student cohort results in comparison with historical data from the last three years.
- Provide guidance to students and parents regarding subject choice and successful transitions to advanced education pathways such as A-Level or IB diploma programmes.
- Lead the annual self-evaluation process for the IGCSE programme and facilitate external accreditation reviews.
Essential Qualifications and Experience
- Possess a postgraduate teaching certificate such as a PGCE or equivalent qualification.
- Minimum of five years teaching experience in a Cambridge IGCSE subject, including at least two years serving as a subject or year-group leader.
- Proven history of achieving high cohort performance, specifically attaining A* or A grades.
- Familiarity with the International Baccalaureate (IB) Diploma transition process applicable from IGCSE level.
Desirable Skills and Experience
- Experience as a Cambridge International Examinations (CIE) examiner or moderator.
- Background in coordinating A-Level programmes in addition to IGCSE.
