Where you'll work
Job description
Position summary
As a Cake Decorator at Sam’s Club, you’ll help create a member-focused bakery experience by delivering quality products and service at a value members appreciate. You’ll partner with other associates so the club meets member expectations across the bakery area.
What you’ll do
Team collaboration: Work with teams across the club, share knowledge on tools and tasks, support other associates, and adjust to business needs while helping maintain stock and reduce shrink.
Bakery expertise: Plan bakery production, keep decorating quality consistent, follow recipe measurements closely, and use decorating tools such as bags, tips, and nozzles to create flowers, lettering, and other designs. Follow food safety rules, sanitation requirements, cold chain standards, inventory practices, and equipment cleaning and upkeep.
Using technology: Use handheld and digital tools to support production choices, product ordering, training, sales, and quality decisions. Adapt to new systems and encourage others to do the same, always keeping the member experience in mind.
Owning the area: Help maintain quality and date standards, reduce waste, prepare for seasonal spikes such as holidays, graduations, and family celebrations, and support members with product choices and issue resolution.
Being a talent ambassador: Represent the bakery well by focusing on member experience, modeling strong service, helping identify obstacles, and supporting the training, growth, and motivation of other associates in a respectful, team-first environment.
Policy and process compliance: Follow company standards, ethics, and integrity expectations, use the Open Door Policy appropriately, and complete assigned work by organizing priorities, tracking deadlines, communicating progress, and adapting to change.
Culture expectations: Support belonging and inclusion, build strong working relationships, communicate positively, help develop others, act with honesty and accountability, put members first, and stay open to learning and continuous improvement.

Benefits may include medical, vision, and dental coverage; 401(k), stock purchase, and company-paid life insurance; PTO, parental leave, family care leave, bereavement, jury duty, and voting leave; short-term and long-term disability; company discounts; Military Leave Pay; and adoption and surrogacy expense reimbursement.
