Job purpose
The cabin crew member serves as the airline’s public face, helping build customer loyalty and a strong company image while delivering a safe, comfortable, and positive experience for passengers throughout the flight. The role requires readiness, fitness to operate, and consistent performance in line with company standards, policies, and procedures.
Key responsibilities
- Arrive on time for assigned flights, maintain appropriate grooming and fitness standards, and confirm personal eligibility to operate. Attend pre-flight briefings to understand flight details, role assignments, targets, and security-related instructions.
- Guide passengers on safety procedures and ensure safety and comfort are maintained throughout the journey.
- Spot safety and security concerns and work with the Cabin Supervisor to address them according to standard operating procedures.
- Provide first aid to passengers when required.
- Report any irregularities, technical issues, or malfunctions promptly to the Cabin Supervisor, flight crew, or Captain as appropriate.
- Welcome passengers, support boarding procedures, and record required information in the aircraft logbook in line with airline and civil aviation procedures.
- Deliver attentive service by responding to individual pre-bookings, requests, and passenger needs.
- Assist passengers who are distressed or facing difficulties, following the relevant operations manual and company instructions.
- Support on-board revenue generation and the charity programme by promoting meals, products, and donations to help meet individual and team targets.
- Handle cash and card payments securely and accurately for sales and donations assigned to you.
- Perform pre-flight checks for supplies, emergency equipment, catering items, and other required materials, and report shortages or issues to the Cabin Supervisor or Captain.
- Help ensure the cabin is properly cleaned during transit, and that catering and duty-free stock are replenished before departure.
- Carry out proper handover and takeover of the cabin with catering, cleaning, and maintenance teams.
- Complete post-flight briefings and assessment reports, including objective feedback on the Cabin Supervisor and any flight issues or discrepancies.
- Support the closing and sealing of duty-free containers and account to the Cabin Supervisor for passenger conduct.
- Perform Cabin Supervisor duties when formally assigned by the Captain.
- Maintain professional competence through recurrent training, emergency procedure training, and educational workshops, while keeping the required licence current.
- Contribute to team goals and help achieve sales targets and other assigned objectives.
Qualifications and skills
- A Diploma or Higher Secondary Certificate is acceptable; a qualification in Travel or Tourism is an added advantage.
- Training in first aid, safety, and emergency procedures is beneficial.
- The candidate must be fit to fly, in good overall health, and free from serious medical conditions or chronic illnesses.
- Should present a friendly, cheerful, and professional attitude, including under pressure.
- Must be customer-focused and able to understand and respond to passenger needs effectively.
- Should be able to manage difficult situations and upset customers while protecting the airline’s image.
- Needs to identify risks quickly and respond to threats or emergencies with efficiency and commitment.
- Should be proactive, self-driven, collaborative, and willing to take initiative.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills are required.
- Excellent time management and problem-solving abilities are important.
- Working knowledge of Microsoft Office is needed.
- Fluency in English is required; additional languages are beneficial depending on airline needs.
Experience and working conditions
- Fresh graduates are welcome to apply.
- Prior experience as cabin crew or in customer service within airlines, aviation, or hospitality is considered an advantage.
- An active cabin crew licence is an added benefit.
- The role requires shift-based work and the ability to work extended hours when needed.
- Flexibility and adaptability are important, as schedules and operational demands may change frequently.
- The role requires the ability to work in line with company policies, procedures, and key performance indicators.
