Programme Overview

The CAAS Air Traffic Control (ATC) Management Associate Programme (MAP) aims to develop future leaders and professionals in air traffic control and the broader aviation sector.

Key Responsibilities and Opportunities

  • Complete comprehensive professional ATC training to acquire necessary ATC ratings and operational skills.
  • Serve as an operational Air Traffic Control Officer ensuring the safe and efficient flow of air traffic in a major aviation hub.
  • Gain extensive operational experience over up to four years to build capability, judgement, and credibility in ATC roles.
  • Experience a wide range of aviation functions including air traffic management, policy, regulation, safety oversight, technology planning, and international collaboration to broaden expertise.
  • Contribute to important projects supporting growth and resilience of Singapore's aviation sector, collaborating with various divisions and honing leadership skills.
  • Receive mentorship from seasoned ATCOs and senior leaders, and network with industry professionals.
  • Potential to work with global aviation stakeholders and engage in international aviation platforms as the career advances.

Candidate Profile and Requirements

  • Applicants must be Singapore Citizens in their final year of university studies or possess less than two years of work experience.
  • Demonstrated excellence in leadership roles and outstanding Co-Curricular Activities (CCA) records.
  • Must be medically fit to meet role-specific requirements.
  • No prior aviation experience is necessary as selected candidates will undergo up to 18 months of professional ATC training.

Selection Process and Terms

  • Application submission followed by selection assessments including aptitude and cognitive tests, panel interviews, and Class 3 medical assessment.
  • Successful candidates will undertake a comprehensive training programme to become certified Air Traffic Control Officers.
  • Upon training completion, candidates commit to a 2-year bond of service with CAAS.
