Role Overview
We are seeking a qualified Aircraft Maintenance Engineer (Avionics) to work on the P-8A Poseidon or MC-55A Peregrine aircraft at our Edinburgh, South Australia base. This is a permanent, full-time position offering a 9-day fortnight work schedule.
Position Highlights
Join an elite Base Maintenance team responsible for supporting RAAF 11SQN and 12SQN Maintenance operations. This role involves hands-on technical work on some of the most advanced maritime and special-mission aircraft. Daily responsibilities include performing both on-aircraft and off-aircraft maintenance, troubleshooting complex avionics systems, executing rapid repairs, and undertaking advanced modifications to maintain fleet readiness.
Candidate Profile
The ideal candidate is a detail-oriented professional who values accuracy and adherence to high standards to ensure aircraft safety. The environment is fast-paced and technically demanding, requiring precision and reliability.
Required Qualifications and Experience
- Certificate IV in Aeroskills (Avionics) or an equivalent qualification from a Registered Training Organisation (RTO).
- Extensive knowledge of aviation airworthiness and experience working within tightly regulated systems.
- Proficiency with aircraft maintenance documentation and Illustrated Electrical Troubleshooting Procedures (IETPs), along with modern maintenance methodologies.
- Capability to obtain a B-level Military Aircraft Maintenance Licence.
- Effective communication skills, both written and verbal, combined with solid computer literacy including Microsoft Office applications.
