Role Overview

The Buyer for women's denim and denim shorts will oversee the complete retail merchandising lifecycle including product selection, vendor negotiations, and inventory planning. This role is pivotal in implementing the buying strategy to ensure merchandise aligns with customer preferences, brand identity, and financial targets. The position also involves mentoring junior buyers and facilitating seamless daily operations.

Key Responsibilities

• Direct product assortment decisions for women's denim and shorts categories, developing buying plans aligned with company objectives and consumer trends.
• Engage with suppliers to negotiate pricing, contracts, and delivery conditions securing advantageous agreements while managing supplier performance.
• Manage and control the buying budget to ensure expenditures remain within financial goals.
• Track product profitability and adjust the merchandise mix accordingly.
• Forecast product demand and regulate inventory levels to prevent overstocking or shortages.
• Analyze competitor offerings, market trends, and customer behavior to inform purchasing decisions.
• Stay proactive on industry trends and apply strategic insight backed by data and experience.
• Collaborate cross-functionally with marketing, finance, and supply chain teams to synchronize purchasing strategies.

Qualifications

• 3 to 5 years of experience in retail merchandising, with expertise in market dynamics, product classification, and consumer insights.
• Proven negotiation capabilities, financial understanding, strategic mindset, and leadership skills.
• Strong decision-making aptitude balancing customer demand and profitability.

Compensation

The salary range for this role is $98,000 to $100,000 annually.
