Job description

Role Overview

Join Screwfix as a Buyer within our Trading team, contributing centrally to category performance and influencing key decisions at board level. This role is a 12-month fixed-term contract or secondment, placing you at the heart of Screwfix’s transformation into an omnichannel retailer powered by innovative fulfilment methods, data analytics, and sustainability commitments.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and execute strong commercial plans to drive category growth.
  • Leverage data-driven insights to identify new business opportunities and inform decision-making.
  • Negotiate effectively with suppliers to secure advantageous deals.
  • Collaborate cross-functionally across teams to implement strategic initiatives and manage change.
  • Present insightful reports and influence senior stakeholders with clear communication and impactful presentations.

Candidate Profile

  • Proven experience in retail trading, buying, or category management.
  • Strategic thinker with hands-on approach to delivering commercial results.
  • Strong capability in supplier relationship management and deal negotiation.
  • Comfortable working in fast-moving and agile environments.
  • Proficient with Excel and PowerPoint for data analysis and reporting.
