Take ownership of a significant specialized portfolio, crafting a product assortment that captivates our customers with the perfect blend of style, taste, quantity, quality, and price. This assortment must be smartly sourced and aligned with the strategic direction of the business. Drive the entire product lifecycle, planning at least three seasons ahead, and contribute to the development of future buying talents through mentorship.
Key Responsibilities
- Analyze past seasonal outcomes by reviewing trade results, competitor activity, supplier performance, marketing efforts, and trend feedback to develop refined strategies for upcoming seasons.
- Develop and present comprehensive seasonal plans for your portfolio, including targets, pricing strategies, supplier approaches, marketing collaborations, trend directions, and product selections that reflect the company's vision.
- Design a well-balanced, enticing assortment with attention to sub-categories, product attributes, promotions, volume opportunities, and trial lines to meet departmental goals.
- Oversee design briefs, artwork, technical packs, sample sourcing, and approvals to ensure all KPIs and sales targets are met.
- Efficiently plan and execute product ranges within set budgets and deadlines, coordinating closely with Planning and Sourcing teams to manage purchase orders and maintain the critical timeline for product availability while ensuring quality standards are upheld.
- Foster strong, lasting supplier relationships, explore new partners and regions, optimize total cost of ownership without compromising quality or delivery schedules, and ensure stores receive products as planned.
- Monitor real-time seasonal trade performance against plans and KPIs, identify opportunities and risks, and make timely trade decisions to protect stock levels and meet financial targets, keeping management and other teams informed of significant changes.
- Keep abreast of local and global market trends, competitor pricing, and product developments to consistently offer customers desirable products at attractive prices, and generate new product ideas advancing from concept through to production.

- Minimum of 5 years of experience, including technical product expertise; prior experience in homeware is highly advantageous.
- Strong technical understanding of garment or product construction, fabrics, fibers, and quality benchmarks.
- Solid knowledge of business strategy and retail market trends, with proficiency in numerical analysis and internal systems.
- Effective communication, negotiation, and presentation skills paired with commercial acumen and refined taste.
- Deep comprehension of merchandise and business operations, excellent commercial judgment, clear insight into customer desires, and fluency in company-specific systems.
