Buyer – Logistics & Packaging Procurement at Gigafactory Berlin Brandenburg

Based in Berlin, you will report directly to the Group Manager of Logistics & Packaging procurement. The role requires proven expertise in managing procurement commodities, setting procurement strategies, and overseeing vendor relationships. Deep knowledge of the logistics market and carriers, along with contract negotiation experience, is highly desirable.

Key Responsibilities

• Oversee procurement categories related to logistics and packaging, streamlining the procurement process for logistics at the Giga Factory Berlin.
• Design and execute strategies aimed at reducing costs while supporting responsible and sustainable sourcing practices.
• Utilize analytical skills to discover cost reduction possibilities, monitor market trends, and assess supplier performance for making data-informed decisions.
• Lead supplier negotiations to secure advantageous pricing and contract terms that align with Tesla's financial targets.
• Work closely with cross-departmental teams including logistics, operations, and finance to synchronize procurement strategies with the company's objectives.
• Create detailed procurement reports to aid strategic planning and data-based decisions.
• Establish and maintain a robust Supplier Relationship Management program to support ongoing vendor engagement.

Qualifications and Skills

• Bachelor's or Master’s degree in Procurement, Logistics, Supply Chain Management, or a related discipline.
• Three to five years of hands-on experience in logistics procurement.
• Advanced analytical abilities with competency in data analysis tools and methodologies.
• Strong negotiation skills coupled with experience managing supplier partnerships effectively.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills for effective collaboration across multiple teams.
• Familiarity and commitment to responsible sourcing and sustainable procurement practices.
• Willingness to spend over 80% of working time at the Grünheide factory office and/or supplier sites.
