About the Role
Join Sainsbury's Direct to Door (DTD) team as a Buyer specializing in Clothing. This position offers the chance to influence one of the company's most dynamic categories by shaping product selection, pricing, and sustainability efforts. You will operate in a fast-moving retail environment focused on delivering customer-centered and commercially viable clothing ranges.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage the end-to-end buying and selling strategy for the Clothing category ensuring a well-curated, compelling product range.
- Select products that balance quality, innovation, customer relevance, and value while considering sustainability and ethical sourcing.
- Analyze financial, market, and customer data to identify growth opportunities and cost efficiencies.
- Collaborate with Merchandising, Technical, and Design teams to optimize product development and supplier performance.
- Maintain and develop strong supplier relationships and lead supplier base improvements.
- Influence internal stakeholders and contribute to strategic planning within the wider Clothing team.
- Continuously monitor market trends, competitor activities, and customer insights to guide future category direction.
- Support and mentor junior colleagues on the team.

You should be an experienced retail buyer with proven commercial acumen, particularly in clothing. Your capability to leverage data for decision-making, endorsement of customer experience, and skill in supplier negotiations are essential.
