Role overview

This contract opportunity is for a Business Systems Analyst focused on wealth management. The assignment is based in Toronto, Ontario, with a hybrid setup that requires on-site presence four days each week. The engagement runs for 6+ months and includes a mandatory background check.

Compensation

The pay rate for this role is $55/hour on an INC basis or $47/hour on a T4 basis.

What you will do

You will work at the intersection of business and technology to support wealth management initiatives. The role involves translating business needs into clear system requirements, supporting backlog and defect management, and helping teams deliver in an Agile environment.

Responsibilities

  • Collect, analyze, and document business and system requirements for wealth management solutions.
  • Support backlog refinement, user story preparation, defect tracking, and workflow coordination in JIRA.
  • Use SQL to inspect data and perform query-based analysis.
  • Apply advanced Excel techniques such as Pivot Tables, VLOOKUP/XLOOKUP, formulas, and data analysis tools.
  • Prepare and maintain documentation in Confluence for team collaboration and knowledge sharing.
  • Partner with both technical and non-technical stakeholders to clarify needs and align expectations.
  • Help drive progress across multiple priorities in a fast-moving Agile setting.

Requirements

  • At least 7 years of experience working as a Business Systems Analyst, ideally with deep exposure to wealth management.
  • Solid knowledge of wealth management products, services, investment platforms, and related operational processes.
  • Practical experience in eliciting, analyzing, and documenting requirements.
  • Working knowledge of SQL for querying and data review.
  • Strong command of Microsoft Excel, including Pivot Tables, formulas, VLOOKUP/XLOOKUP, and analytical functions.
  • Experience with JIRA for backlog management, user stories, defect tracking, and workflow management.
  • Experience with Confluence for documentation and collaboration.
  • Strong analytical thinking, problem-solving ability, and attention to detail.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Comfortable managing multiple demands in an Agile work environment.
  • Must be able to pass a background check.

Additional information

This is a 6+ month contract position. The work arrangement is hybrid, with 4 days per week on-site in Toronto, ON.
