Job description

Company Overview

Apollo.io is a leading go-to-market platform for revenue teams, used by more than 500,000 companies and millions of people worldwide. Since launching in 2015, it has grown rapidly in SaaS, secured about $250 million in funding, and reached a valuation of $1.6 billion. The platform gives sales and marketing teams access to verified B2B contact data spanning over 210 million contacts and 35 million companies, while also providing tools to connect with and convert those contacts in a single system. Apollo.io helps revenue teams find accurate contact details and automate outreach so prospects can be turned into customers. The company completed a Series D in 2023 and is supported by investors such as Sequoia Capital and Bain Capital Ventures, with former HubSpot President and COO JD Sherman on the board.

Role Summary

Apollo.io is looking for a Business Recruiter to lead end-to-end hiring for its Sales and Marketing functions. This is a high-trust, high-accountability position on a lean team, where you will manage several mid- and senior-level openings, create and run sourcing plans, and act as a true partner to hiring managers. The role suits someone who works independently, anticipates issues early, and brings an advisory mindset to conversations with stakeholders. The strongest fit will bring a structured personal approach and help elevate the team around them.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage full-cycle recruitment for mid- and senior-level Sales and Marketing positions, keeping momentum across multiple business areas at the same time.
  • Create sourcing plans that produce strong and diverse candidate pipelines, then adjust those plans based on funnel results rather than gut feel.
  • Run organized screening and interviewing processes, build interview structures, and facilitate debriefs that lead to clear and well-supported hiring choices.
  • Handle more than 20 phone screens each week and complete over 360 outbound outreach efforts every quarter.
  • Maintain a high hiring bar, offer direct feedback, and avoid forwarding weak candidates just to avoid difficult conversations.
  • Keep Greenhouse updated with accurate, current pipeline information and proactively share progress with leadership.
  • Monitor funnel performance, identify the real reasons for delays, and bring data-backed recommendations to stakeholder discussions.
  • Work closely with hiring managers and business leaders as a trusted advisor by helping define roles, align on candidate expectations, and influence decisions with subject-matter expertise.
  • Collaborate with Finance, HR, and Compensation teams to support offer approvals and headcount workflows with strong operational discipline.
  • Improve or build workflows, processes, or tools that increase efficiency beyond your own requisition load.

What We’re Looking For

  • At least 7 years of full-cycle recruiting experience, especially for Sales, Revenue, or Marketing roles in SaaS.
  • Proven success in fast-growing environments where priorities, ambiguity, and complexity are part of the job.
  • Confidence working with stakeholders at every level, including the ability to question, influence, and shape outcomes rather than only execute tasks.
  • Strong comfort with data, including the ability to monitor funnel health, spot issues early, and use metrics to guide conversations.
  • Evidence of using AI or process automation to build repeatable workflows that improved efficiency and output.
  • Exposure to revenue organizations, strong marketing teams, and product-led growth business models.
  • Practical experience with Greenhouse and Gem, with rigorous data cleanliness as a must-have habit.
  • Clear, direct communication style and the ability to influence across functions without formal authority.
  • Strong initiative, with a tendency to identify problems, propose solutions, and keep progress moving independently.

Culture and Working Style
