Job description
About the role
Kiwibank is seeking a Business Performance Coach to join its Customer Business team in Wellington. In this position, you will help senior leaders strengthen the way they lead, coach and drive results through their teams. The emphasis is on building leadership capability and embedding consistent, disciplined performance practices that create lasting improvement.
This is a senior coaching role for someone who is comfortable partnering with experienced leaders, offering constructive challenge, and converting insight into measurable business outcomes. The focus is not on coaching frontline teams directly, but on enabling leaders to confidently set direction, coach effectively, review progress and follow through within their own areas.
What you will do
- Coach senior leaders to manage performance with clarity, discipline and consistency.
- Help establish strong leadership cadences across daily, weekly, monthly and quarterly rhythms.
- Strengthen leaders’ capability to observe performance, provide direct feedback and close the loop effectively.
- Use performance information and data to identify priority areas for improvement.
- Influence leaders and challenge assumptions in order to embed sustainable ways of working.
- Work alongside Capability and Learning teams to coordinate leadership development efforts.
What we are looking for
We are looking for a highly capable leadership coach who has experience working with senior leaders in complex environments. You should be able to influence behaviour change, help leaders improve performance over time, and bring a strong understanding of coaching disciplines, performance systems and leader-led routines.
Confidence in using data to diagnose issues, prioritise effort and guide improvement is important. You will also need to build trust quickly and have the presence to challenge constructively at senior levels. Experience in large customer-facing or regulated organisations would be an advantage.
Perks and benefits
- A supportive and inclusive team environment where your contribution is valued.
- Four wellbeing days each year to help you recharge when needed.
- Flexible working arrangements.
