Role overview

Mindflight7 NZ is an education technology company bringing immersive, curriculum-aligned virtual reality experiences into schools and corporate training settings. The work focuses on giving learners experiences that traditional classroom materials cannot easily replicate.

This contract opportunity is for a relationship-led Growth & Partnerships contractor who will help the business expand across Auckland and other regions. It is a hands-on, early-stage role where your efforts will have a direct impact on company growth.

Key responsibilities

  • Source and manage school prospects through outbound outreach such as email, phone, LinkedIn, and face-to-face networking.
  • Build connections with school decision-makers, including principals, deputy principals, and lead teachers, as well as corporate HR, learning and development teams, and training managers, to convert interest into VR bookings and contracts.
  • Attend school visits, education events, and community gatherings on behalf of the company.
  • Move prospects through a sales cycle of around 2 to 4 weeks, starting from first contact through to confirmed booking.
  • Work with the delivery team and, from time to time, assist with VR sessions in schools to deepen product understanding and create direct customer contact.
  • Help foster a collaborative growth culture where the whole team contributes to business expansion.

What we are looking for

  • Demonstrated success in lead generation and closing business, ideally within education, SaaS, or B2B services.
  • Comfort with cold outreach to school leaders by email and phone.
  • Strong people skills and the ability to build trust quickly with a wide range of stakeholders.
  • A self-directed and organised working style with the ability to manage a pipeline independently.
  • Clear, persuasive, and professional written communication.
  • Genuine enthusiasm for education and creating meaningful outcomes for young learners.
  • A valid New Zealand driver’s licence and willingness to travel to schools across Auckland and throughout New Zealand.

Advantageous experience

  • Previous sales experience with New Zealand schools or within the education sector.
  • Understanding of the New Zealand curriculum and how school decisions are typically made.
  • Exposure to virtual reality, augmented reality, or other education technology products.
