An opportunity is available for a Business Development Officer (Administration) to join the Tokyo office and support TIQ’s work in the Japan market.
This position is based in Tokyo and reports to the Queensland Trade and Investment Commissioner for Japan. The role sits within the local engagement structure in Japan and is not employment under the Queensland Public Sector. Key duties
- Deliver administrative support to the office as needed and as directed.
- Carry out market research to assist Queensland exporters.
- Help coordinate promotional events in Japan, such as exhibitions, seminars, and functions.
- Maintain internal and external databases so the team has reliable access to sector, company, and client information.
- Monitor promotional material inventory and keep administrative systems up to date.
- Act as the first contact for general enquiries received by phone, in person, and through written correspondence.
- Support TIQ projects in Japan, including planning and delivery for trade missions and visiting business delegations.
Eligibility and selection requirements
- You must already be legally authorised to live and work in Japan at the time of appointment, and you will need to provide evidence of that status.
- Strong professional fluency in both Japanese and English, spoken and written, is essential.
- The chosen candidate must be willing to complete a screening check and be assessed as suitable to access government resources.
