Role Overview

This position is for a Business Development Manager at the Senior Executive or Assistant Manager level, reporting to the Zonal Manager in Mahabaleshwar, Maharashtra. The role sits within the Hotels business and focuses on the independent hotels supply segment.

About the Function

The Hotels vertical is a major growth engine for the organization, centered on creating strong travel experiences through technology-enabled innovation and close collaboration with supply partners. The team manages a large mix of domestic and international stays and works with revenue management, marketing, product, and operations to maintain the right balance of availability, pricing, and quality. The Independent Hotels team, part of the domestic hotel supply function, manages independent hotel supply across India and has more than 70,000 contracted hotels on the platform.

Role Summary

The selected candidate will build and nurture relationships with independent hotels, handle end-to-end account ownership, and work to sustain strong regional performance. The job requires frequent travel to hotels across the portfolio to provide guidance, analyze performance metrics, and recommend actions aligned with industry best practices.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and maintain relationships with independent hotel partners.
  • Own the complete account lifecycle and support consistent regional performance.
  • Identify, source, and onboard new hotel partners.
  • Travel to partner hotels and offer operational guidance, data-backed insights, and improvement recommendations.
  • Create business plans to increase net revenue and support market growth.
  • Ensure inventory availability stays ahead of demand and keep pricing competitive across channels.
  • Manage supplier relationships and train partners on the extranet and wholesale processes.
  • Review monthly production performance and share feedback with high-performing hotels.
  • Plan and execute market visits and site visits.
  • Build MIS and market intelligence reports.
  • Prepare geography-wise and service-wise sales plans and work toward delivery of targets.
  • Share market and industry insights with clients and internal stakeholders.
  • Initiate leads, negotiate terms, and close commercial agreements.
  • Develop effective positioning strategies to improve hotel visibility and partner growth.

Requirements

  • Master's degree from a reputed institute.
  • 4 to 6 years of experience in sales, travel trade, key account management, contracting, or B2B sales.
  • Prior experience managing multiple partner accounts is preferred.
  • Strong command of MS Excel and MS PowerPoint.
  • Excellent communication and influencing abilities.
  • Strong interpersonal and stakeholder management skills.
  • High energy levels, a collaborative approach, and a positive attitude.

Additional Information
