Role Overview
This position is for a Business Development Manager at the Senior Executive / Assistant Manager level, reporting to the Zonal Manager and based in Gurgaon/Delhi.
About the Team
The Hotels division is among the company’s largest and fastest-expanding businesses. It focuses on creating strong travel experiences through technology-driven innovation, close collaboration with partners, and a wide hotel inventory across leisure and business destinations. The team coordinates with supply, revenue, marketing, product, and operations groups to maintain the right mix of availability, pricing, and service quality for travelers and hotel partners.
The Independent Hotels team sits within the Domestic Hotel supply function and manages independent hotel supply across India. This team has a contracted network of more than 70,000 hotels on the platform.
Role Summary
The selected candidate will build and strengthen relationships with independent hotels, manage accounts end to end, and help ensure steady regional performance. The role requires regular travel to hotels in the portfolio, along with analysis, advisory support, and recommendations grounded in industry best practices.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and maintain relationships with independent hotels while managing accounts comprehensively from onboarding through ongoing performance improvement.
- Source and onboard new hotels into the portfolio.
- Travel to hotels across the assigned region and provide operational guidance, performance analysis, and actionable suggestions to partner hotels.
- Increase market net revenue by building business plans, meeting revenue targets, keeping inventory ahead of demand, and sustaining competitive pricing across channels.
- Maintain supplier relationships and train partner hotels on the extranet and wholesale processes.
- Review monthly production performance, share feedback with top-performing hotels, and plan and execute market visits.
- Create MIS and market intelligence reports, prepare geography-wise and service-wise sales plans, and work toward their achievement.
- Share market and industry insights with clients and internal stakeholders.
- Network, initiate deals, negotiate terms, and close agreements with clients.
- Design better hotel marketing approaches that help partners serve customers more effectively while growing their own business.
Requirements
- Master’s degree from a reputed institute.
- 2 to 4 years of experience in sales, travel trade, key account management, contracting, or B2B sales.
- Prior exposure to managing multiple accounts is preferred.
- Strong command of MS Excel and MS PowerPoint.
- Excellent communication, influencing, interpersonal, and stakeholder management abilities.
- Energetic, collaborative, and positive team-oriented attitude.
