Minimum Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent practical experience.
- Minimum of 7 years in quota-responsible sales or account management roles.
Preferred Qualifications
- At least 10 years of professional experience, including 5+ years in venture capital, private equity, investment banking, consulting, partnerships or business development roles engaging with C-suite executives.
- Proven expertise managing products and technologies in Cloud or SaaS sectors.
- Experience devising and implementing go-to-market strategies targeting startups and digital-native companies.
- In-depth understanding of the local startup ecosystem, plus experience as a founder, executive in a startup, or in a venture capital firm.
- Ability to engage effectively with executive leadership and technical stakeholders such as CTOs.
Role Description
The Business Development Manager will be an essential member of Google Cloud's venture capital and startup ecosystem team, supporting the Go To Market strategy for digital native and startup markets. This role focuses on understanding startup and VC partner needs, coordinating cross-functional Google teams to maximize commercial and ecosystem growth, and establishing long-lasting partnerships.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead partnership efforts and strategic engagements with a portfolio of top venture capital firms.
- Collaborate with Google Cloud regional sales leaders and internal teams to develop ecosystem strategies tailored for the region and specific VC partners.
- Promote Google's startup program, increase its adoption, manage the admission process, and support credit usage maximization.
- Cultivate and deepen relationships with key stakeholders at assigned VC firms, converting relationships into formal, long-term partnerships.
- Create value for VC portfolio companies through enhanced usage of Google Cloud services and coordinate across Google functions to meet portfolio company needs.
