This role involves spearheading growth initiatives across New Zealand's foodservice sector.

Role Responsibilities

  • Lead and implement comprehensive business development strategies at the national level, translating goals into measurable growth outcomes.
  • Go beyond account management by actively identifying new business opportunities and forging long-lasting partnerships across diverse foodservice segments including contract catering, healthcare, aged care, quick service restaurants (QSR), and business & industry.
  • Continuously analyze the market landscape to detect gaps and potential areas for expansion, constantly asking where new wins are possible.
  • Design and execute customer engagement strategies and joint business plans (JBPs) with clear commercial objectives and growth targets, ensuring consistent follow-through.
  • Manage high-level strategic conversations and quarterly business reviews, ensuring preparation and alignment among stakeholders.
  • Maintain and actively pursue a robust national sales pipeline, balancing new client acquisition with expanding existing customer relationships.
  • Drive the development of agreements, tenders, and commercial proposals using data-driven insights to create targeted growth strategies.
  • Monitor business performance closely through forecasts and momentum tracking, making adjustments as necessary to meet commitments.
  • Collaborate closely with cross-functional teams including Sales, Marketing, Finance, Supply Chain, and Category to deliver integrated customer solutions.
  • Share successes, insights, and market intelligence to enhance organizational capabilities and strategic thinking across the New Zealand business.
  • Uphold Nestlé's principles, policies, and compliance standards in daily operations.

Requirements and Qualifications

  • Minimum of five years’ experience in commercial sales, preferably managing national accounts and multi-site customers within the Foodservice or Out-of-Home sectors.
  • Well-versed with the foodservice industry, including segments such as healthcare, aged care, contract catering, or QSR.
  • Proven track record in growing sales pipelines, securing contracts, and achieving revenue targets.
  • A proactive, opportunity-seeking attitude with a strong drive to generate value beyond existing customer bases.
  • Commercial acumen with the ability to leverage data and insights for opportunity identification and influencing decision-making.
  • Excellent communication and influence skills, adept at engaging senior stakeholders, distributors, and cross-functional teams.
  • Ability to manage complex challenges and prioritize multiple tasks efficiently while maintaining focus.
  • Experience launching new products or solutions to the market through collaborative efforts.
  • Established relationships within the New Zealand foodservice market are advantageous.
  • Self-driven, curious, and passionate about food innovation and customer-focused solutions.
  • Must have full working rights for New Zealand and may be subject to pre-employment health and background checks.

Benefits and Perks

  • Competitive base salary combined with an attractive bonus scheme.
  • Flexible hybrid working arrangements.
  • Life and income protection insurance linked with KiwiSaver contributions.
  • Up to five additional 'KitKat Days' annually for rest and wellness.
  • Opportunities for personalized professional growth and diverse career pathways within a global FMCG leader.
  • Wellbeing offerings including complimentary flu vaccinations, discounted private health coverage, and gym membership deals via Fitness Passport.
  • Access to various leave options such as purchased leave, volunteering leave, sports leave, and emergency services leave.
