About Thryv
Thryv has a 125-year heritage of supporting local businesses to thrive, transitioning from traditional print directories to an advanced AI-driven platform that empowers small businesses with digital marketing tools. Our clientele ranges from plumbers seeking visibility on Google, salon owners with limited time for follow-ups, to family-run restaurants competing with large chains on a budget.
Our workforce is built on accountability, sincere client relationships, and ethical practice. We empower our team members to take ownership, support each other, and celebrate successes earnestly.
Position Overview
This is a full-time, genuine field sales role based in Sydney, NSW. The role requires daily engagement in market activities such as door-to-door visitation, cold calling, and in-person discussions with small business owners who are often unaware of Thryv’s offerings until approached. You will be responsible for selling digital marketing and business management solutions including SEO, AEO, SEM, and social media services to small and medium-sized businesses throughout your territory.
You will independently manage the entire sales process, from building your pipeline from scratch to closing deals and onboarding clients. Prior digital marketing experience is advantageous but not mandatory; what is essential is a proven ability to generate new business consistently without supervision.
Responsibilities
- Initiate daily prospecting and cold calls to grow your sales pipeline.
- Conduct door-to-door visits and network within the Sydney business community to engage potential clients.
- Meet with business owners face-to-face to identify their needs and propose tailored digital marketing solutions.
- Manage the complete sales cycle from initial contact through to deal closure and client onboarding.
- Consistently meet or exceed monthly new business acquisition targets.
- Effectively plan and manage your territory, including scheduling and pipeline management.
- Maintain accurate pipeline records and provide regular progress reports to your Account Director.
- Stay informed about Thryv’s product updates, market competition, and trends within the SMB sector.
Candidate Profile
- Demonstrable track record of B2B sales success in field roles.
- Experience with digital marketing tools and strategies such as SEO, AEO, SEM, and social media is highly valued.
- Ability to independently build and close a sales pipeline without supervision.
- Comfortable and experienced with daily doorknocking and cold calling.
- Adopts a consultative sales approach by asking the right questions, listening attentively, and aligning solutions to client needs.
- Self-driven with strong autonomy in managing time, territory, and targets.
- Tech-savvy and confident in demonstrating digital platforms to business owners.
Why You'll Enjoy This Role
- Unlimited earning potential directly linked to your effort and results.
- Autonomy to manage your schedule and territory, with opportunities for remote work when off the road.
- Meaningful work providing real solutions to genuine business challenges.
- Clear career development pathways that progress at your own pace.
- A supportive culture that celebrates wins and invests in people.
- Ongoing training, mentoring, and product knowledge to ensure your success.
