Since 1931, the company has been driven by its mission to save and sustain lives, fostering a culture defined by courage, trust, and collaboration. Employees are empowered to take initiative and contribute meaningfully toward impactful healthcare solutions.
Role Overview
The Business Development Lead will be instrumental in expanding Baxter's presence across the Gulf States and Saudi Arabia. This role involves uncovering new market possibilities, devising and executing strategic business plans, and navigating the rapidly evolving healthcare landscape influenced by regulatory and market changes. Building and maintaining robust relationships with clients, partners, and key stakeholders, while collaborating across departments to implement commercial plans, is central to success. Additionally, the role includes oversight of market trends, performance measurement, proposal creation, and adherence to pharmacovigilance requirements with prompt reporting of adverse events and safety data.
Key Responsibilities
- Research market developments, competitor activity, and client needs to identify new and emerging business opportunities, while protecting existing market share amidst changing regulations and strategies such as local manufacturing and evolving distribution models.
- Formulate and drive implementation of business strategies aligned with long-term objectives, including goal setting, KPI determination, SWOT and competitor analyses, and ensuring coordination with marketing, sales, and product teams.
- Develop and maintain strong client and partner relationships through networking, participation in industry events and conferences, and leveraging professional contacts to grow the business footprint.
- Continuously track industry and market trends, customer demands, and competitor actions to adjust strategies and identify gaps that inform product development, marketing initiatives, and sales tactics.
- Prepare tailored business proposals, presentations, and value-based communications aimed at attracting and securing clients and partners, differentiating Baxter from competitors.
- Collaborate internally with marketing, sales, finance, and product development teams to cohesively execute strategies and meet business objectives.
- Monitor performance against goals, analyze key performance indicators, manage budgets, and provide regular reporting to leadership to ensure accountability and strategic refinement.
- Oversee pharmacovigilance and adverse event reporting processes, ensuring the collection and reporting of safety information for Baxter products within one business day, including patient and product details. Promote awareness of safety vigilance importance among customers.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Business Management, Healthcare Management, or a related discipline; a Master’s degree is advantageous.
- At least 7 to 10 years of experience in business development within healthcare, medical devices, pharmaceuticals, or related sectors.
- Proven track record in identifying growth opportunities, forging strategic partnerships, and contributing to business expansion.
- Strong capabilities in strategic thinking, business insight, analytical problem solving, and data-driven decision making.
- Exceptional negotiation, stakeholder communication, and relationship management skills with the ability to influence at all organizational levels.
