About the Role
Mulpha Australia seeks a commercially minded Business Development Executive to support its Hospitality & Leisure division. Based primarily in Sydney or Pokolbin, this position requires travel between both sites. The successful candidate will focus on driving revenue growth by generating new business, converting inquiries, and cultivating long-lasting client relationships across Mulpha's prestigious portfolio of real estate, hospitality, and leisure assets.
Key Responsibilities
- Identify and pursue new business opportunities across corporate, group, leisure, MICE (Meetings, Incentives, Conferences, Exhibitions) and travel trade segments.
- Generate qualified leads through proactive outbound prospecting, networking, referrals, industry events, and trade shows.
- Create customized proposals, pitches, and presentations tailored to target clients and partners.
- Lead client meetings, site inspections, and familiarisation visits to highlight Mulpha’s venues and experiences.
- Build and sustain strong relationships with key accounts including travel agents, event planners, corporate clientele, and booking partners.
- Manage the entire sales lifecycle from initial inquiry through contract finalization and effective handover to operations and events teams.
- Maintain precise records of sales activities, pipeline status, and forecasts within the CRM system.
- Monitor conversion ratios, pipeline health, and market dynamics providing regular insights and reports to management.
- Collaborate with marketing, events, operations, and revenue departments to ensure excellent client experience.
Candidate Profile
- 3 to 5+ years of experience in business development, corporate sales, or MICE sales within hospitality, hotels, tourism, or events sectors.
- Demonstrated success in acquiring new business and consistently meeting or surpassing sales targets.
- Experienced in managing comprehensive sales cycles including prospecting, proposal development, negotiations, contract execution, and client transition.
- Excellent relationship-building skills with corporate clients, event planners, agencies, and travel trade partners.
- Comfortable conducting client meetings, delivering presentations, site inspections, familiarisations, and engaging in networking activities.
- Proficient in CRM software for pipeline management, forecasting, and reporting.
- Strong negotiation, communication, influencing, and organizational skills.
- Self-driven, motivated, collaborative, and able to juggle multiple opportunities concurrently.
- Valid driver’s licence and readiness to travel for client engagements, site visits, industry events and trade shows.
