Job description
Role Overview
The Smart Local Media Group is hiring a Sales and Business Development Executive to help grow revenue by bringing in new clients, renewing existing agreements, and uncovering additional business opportunities. The role involves shaping and presenting paid media solutions across the group’s platforms, working with internal teams to deliver successful campaigns, and maintaining strong partnerships with brands, agencies, and other key stakeholders.
What You Will Be Responsible For
- Increase individual sales performance and revenue through new client acquisition, contract renewals, and account expansion.
- Build tailored paid media proposals that align with the marketing funnel and sales process to improve engagement and conversion outcomes.
- Source leads through cold outreach, prepare media plans, and develop campaign proposals for relevant client segments across TheSmartLocal, TSL KOLs, and Telegram Collective.
- Present and sell advertising solutions across the group’s media properties while coordinating with brands, agencies, and KOL managers.
- Confidently deliver pitches, nurture client relationships, and actively participate in networking opportunities.
- Collaborate with internal teams to ensure campaigns are executed smoothly and effectively.
- Keep sales reports updated accurately and on time.
- Assist leadership with pitches, reporting, and relationship management for important clients and agencies.
- Monitor market trends and competitor activity to spot new revenue possibilities.
- Lead cross-functional pitch efforts and help strengthen TSLMG’s credentials through case studies.
- Support market education, adoption, and advocacy of the group’s paid media offerings.
- Carry out other sales-related tasks as needed.
What We’re Looking For
- Minimum 2 years of experience in sales or business development within a comparable industry, supported by a strong track record.
- Solid understanding of new media, digital publishing, content, and social media.
- Strong negotiation ability and a commercially minded approach.
- Excellent spoken and written communication skills, including experience presenting to senior executives and decision-makers.
- Strong interpersonal skills, a collaborative mindset, and the ability to work well both independently and across teams.
- Excellent multitasking, analytical, and problem-solving skills, with careful attention to detail.
