Their expertise encompasses pharmaceutical development, clinical supply, and commercial manufacturing with additional capabilities in packaging technologies and specialized hormonal and antibiotic products.
Role Overview
We are seeking a strategic and motivated Business Development Director to spearhead growth efforts within the pharmaceutical CDMO sector, focusing particularly on non-sterile oral and topical liquids like syrups, solutions, suspensions, emulsions, plus topical forms including creams, gels, and ointments. This full-time role reports directly to the VP & Head of Business Development and requires a hands-on approach in customer acquisition, market development, pipeline management, and revenue expansion in line with NextPharma’s strategic objectives.
Responsibilities
- Identify and engage new customers across pharma, biotech, and health & nutrition segments for non-sterile liquids and topical products.
- Analyze market trends and data to discover promising growth areas.
- Develop and maintain a strong business pipeline from lead generation through contract signing.
- Ensure comprehensive global territorial market coverage and customer segmentation.
- Achieve and surpass annual revenue goals via proactive sales efforts and deal closure.
- Establish long-term, trust-based partnerships as a dependable advisor to clients.
- Collaborate closely with technical, project management, and operational teams for alignment with customer requirements.
- Keep detailed records of sales pipeline, forecasts, and performance metrics through CRM tools.
Qualifications & Skills
- Bachelor’s degree in business, science, or a relevant area.
- Between 5 and 10+ years of business development experience in pharmaceutical CDMO roles, with preference for EU markets.
- Proven success in exceeding sales targets.
- Strong knowledge of pharmaceutical drug development and manufacturing processes.
- Exceptional communication, negotiation (including contracts), and presentation skills.
- Willingness to travel for client interactions and industry functions.
- Robust technical understanding of CDMO solutions.
- Fluent proficiency in English.
