Role Overview
The Business Development Director for Hospitality acts as a subject matter expert driving business growth initiatives to meet sales targets. This role focuses on discovering new business prospects, establishing strategic partnerships, and strengthening current client relations.
Key Responsibilities
- Spot and assess new business opportunities to stimulate growth and boost profitability.
- Create and implement strategic plans directed at business development aligning with company goals.
- Conduct thorough market research to understand trends, competition, and expansion possibilities.
- Build and nurture relationships with essential stakeholders such as clients, partners, and industry leaders.
- Negotiate and secure partnership contracts that facilitate business expansion.
- Maintain strong client relations ensuring satisfaction and retention.
- Identify and enter emerging markets to broaden the company's reach.
- Develop go-to-market approaches for new products, services, or sectors.
- Drive revenue through client acquisition and growth of existing accounts.
- Design and manage sales campaigns to meet revenue objectives.
- Track sales metrics and report findings to senior management regularly.
- Develop and present persuasive presentations, proposals, and pitches to prospective clients and collaborators.
- Collaborate with internal teams to create tailored solutions fulfilling client requirements.
- Ensure all proposals and presentations align with the company's value and strategic aims.
- Coordinate with Marketing, Product Development, and other departments to harmonize business development activities with the overall corporate strategy.
- Provide market insights and client feedback to Product Development teams for continuous improvement.
- Engage in cross-departmental projects supporting overall business goals.
- Perform additional duties as required.
Qualifications and Experience
- A bachelor's degree in a related discipline or equivalent education/experience is required.
- Eight to ten years of pertinent experience or an equivalent mix of education and work experience.
Competencies and Skills
- Possesses specialized knowledge or expertise in relevant discipline(s) recognized across departments.
- Exceptional communication, analytical problem-solving, and organizational abilities.
- Capable of juggling multiple tasks efficiently with solid prioritization and time management.
- Maintains high integrity and discretion when dealing with confidential information.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite applications.
- Exhibits flexibility, adaptability to evolving circumstances, teamwork orientation, and multitasking under pressure.
- Displays professionalism, judgment, maturity, and resourcefulness even without explicit guidelines or procedures.
Additional Information
- Temporary indirect reporting roles possible when assigned as Project Lead, possibly providing guidance to junior team members.
- Position requires occasional travel.
- Must be physically able to regularly lift up to 50 pounds.
