Job description
About London Global Centre (LGC)
LGC is a UK-based startup focused on revolutionizing workforce upskilling in AI, cybersecurity, and cloud technologies. Leveraging original market research that connects the GCC and UK skill gaps, LGC is now expanding its innovative training model into the Asian market. Unlike conventional training providers, LGC emphasizes lean operation and rapid, specialized content delivery backed by strategic industry partnerships.
Role Overview
Singapore presents a lucrative skilling market worth approximately USD 1.5 billion, fueled by SkillsFuture programs, government AI upskilling subsidies, and a rising need for expert trainers in emerging sectors. LGC is launching its presence here and seeks a proactive, commission-based freelance Business Development and Client Relations Specialist who can independently initiate and close business opportunities. This is a unique chance to influence the company's strategy and growth in the region as an early team member.
Key Responsibilities
- Establish and cultivate new business relationships within Singapore's private sector, educational institutions, government upskilling agencies, and corporate entities.
- Drive market entry by independently identifying and closing deals without relying solely on pre-existing leads or referrals.
- Adapt to a dynamic startup environment, contributing to the development of processes and playbooks.
Qualifications and Skills
- Extensive and well-established network across Singapore’s corporate, educational, and government upskilling sectors.
- Demonstrable success in opening new business avenues and negotiating deals autonomously.
- Experience in B2B sales, partnerships, or business development, preferably within training, education, or technology sectors.
- Highly self-motivated with a proven track record of independent hustle and achievement.
- Additional advantage for candidates with broader Southeast Asia connections (e.g., Kuala Lumpur, Jakarta) for future regional growth.
Compensation and Benefits
- Generous, uncapped commission structure surpassing typical market rates per closed transaction.
- Flexible freelance arrangement allowing control over schedule and business pipeline.
- Direct collaboration with company founders, offering strategic input opportunities beyond execution.
- Early involvement in a UK-based startup targeting one of Asia’s fastest-growing training markets, with potential for advancement into larger regional roles.
Additional Information
Interested candidates should submit a brief note detailing their network, previous sales accomplishments, and rationale for their suitability in spearheading LGC’s Singapore market entry. Highlighting connections to wider Southeast Asia will be beneficial. Applications must include a CV.
