Business Analyst with Canadian Insurance Expertise

About the Role

We are seeking a Business Analyst skilled in Canadian insurance domain to join our team onsite in Toronto with a minimum of 3 days per week attendance. The primary focus of this role involves managing business-as-usual priorities by breaking them down effectively, handling backlog management, and coordinating sprint activities.

Key Responsibilities

• Collaborate closely with the Product Owner to gather and document requirements and enhancements.
• Lead sprint ceremonies including planning, refinement, demonstrations, and retrospectives.
• Decompose requirements into user stories with well-defined acceptance criteria.
• Identify dependencies across teams and facilitate effective coordination.
• Prioritize and maintain the backlog aligned with business priorities alongside the Product Owner.
• Gain a thorough understanding of backend systems, workflows, and data mappings; knowledge of SQL and MongoDB is advantageous.
• Assist with defect triage and perform root cause analysis.
• Demonstrate strong proficiency with Agile project management tools such as Jira and Confluence, and support process facilitation.

Requirements

• Experience as a Business Analyst in Canadian insurance environment.
• Familiarity with Agile methodologies and related tools (Jira, Confluence).
• Understanding of backend data processes including SQL and MongoDB.
• Ability to coordinate sprint activities and manage backlogs effectively.
• Strong communication skills for cross-team collaboration.

Additional Information

This is a contract position based onsite in Toronto. The candidate is expected to be present at the workplace at least three days a week to ensure smooth operation and interaction with the team.
