About the Role
The Business Analyst is instrumental in driving business and digital transformation efforts within the organization. Collaborating closely with business stakeholders, product teams, and technology departments, this role involves interpreting business needs, analyzing workflows, and identifying enhancement opportunities to design suitable solutions. The aim is to support the delivery of customer-centric, scalable, and efficient solutions by leading requirements gathering, process examinations, solution planning, and engagement with stakeholders. Ultimately, the Business Analyst plays a significant part in project success and continuous improvement initiatives that boost customer satisfaction, operational efficiency, and overall business results.
Key Responsibilities
- Gather, analyze, document, and confirm both functional and non-functional business requirements.
- Conduct workshops, interviews, and discussions with stakeholders to uncover business goals and needs.
- Create user stories, acceptance criteria, and supporting documentation to guide project delivery.
- Evaluate existing processes and outline future-state workflows and solutions.
- Prepare documentation such as business rules, workflows, and process maps to aid solution design and implementation.
- Collaborate with Product, Technology, and Delivery teams to ensure the accurate understanding and execution of requirements.
- Assist in the design and rollout of digital and operational solutions aligned with business objectives.
- Engage in backlog refinement, sprint planning, testing phases, and deployment efforts.
- Evaluate different solution alternatives and suggest improvements to align with desired outcomes.
- Support User Acceptance Testing, defect tracking, and ensure the business is prepared for implementations.
- Establish and maintain productive relationships with both business and technology stakeholders.
- Effectively communicate requirements, risks, issues, and recommendations to relevant parties.
- Facilitate resolution of conflicting priorities and promote stakeholder agreement.
- Serve as the connection point between business users and project delivery teams throughout project lifecycles.
- Identify areas for process enhancement, improved customer experiences, and operational efficiencies.
- Contribute to defining and monitoring business outcomes, KPIs, and success metrics.
- Support initiatives around process improvements and overall business transformation.
- Advocate and implement best practices in business analysis and continuous improvement.
Experience and Qualifications
- Between 3 to 5 years working as a Business Analyst within business, digital, or technology delivery contexts.
- Proven experience in collecting, documenting, and managing business requirements during project lifecycles.
- Strong abilities in process analysis and mapping.
- Experience collaborating effectively with both business and technology stakeholders.
- Familiarity with supporting Agile or project delivery teams.
- A tertiary degree in Business, IT, Commerce, or related fields.
- Attributes including collaboration, proactiveness, customer focus, and meticulous attention to detail.
- Commitment to continuous improvement principles.
- Desirable qualifications and experience:
- Background in insurance, travel, financial services, or other customer-oriented sectors.
- Exposure to digital transformation or customer experience projects.
- Knowledge of Agile methodologies.
- Relevant Business Analysis certifications such as IIBA, ECBA, or CCBA.
