Job description

About Avaloq

Avaloq is a Switzerland-founded company with a growing international presence across 10 countries. It works with more than 170 clients in 35 countries and provides wealth management technology and services to financial institutions, including private banks, wealth managers, investment managers, retail banks, and neo banks. The company emphasizes research-driven development, ongoing innovation, and a collaborative environment where employees can grow their careers.

Role overview

In this Business Analyst role within the Payments team, you will be trusted with meaningful responsibility from the start and supported through both structured and hands-on learning. The team works across payment gateway and authentication products, covering areas such as unified payment APIs, card and bank payouts, smart payment routing, and notification services. The authentication side focuses on improving performance and support for a consistent global user experience across e-commerce channels and connected devices.

What you will do

  • Review payment workflows and pinpoint opportunities to improve efficiency and overall process quality.
  • Work with internal and external stakeholders to gather business needs and convert them into workable payment solutions, using tools such as JIRA, Confluence, and the Service Request platform to document them.
  • Help design and develop features that support business solutions in Avaloq.
  • Stay informed about rules, regulations, and standards affecting the payments industry.
  • Investigate customer problems and internal requests, support client interactions during testing, handle bug fixes and change requests, and help resolve open questions and issues.
  • Partner with developers during implementation, testing, and defect resolution for both new and existing functionality.
  • Coordinate across teams and colleagues in different countries and cultures.
  • Take part in Agile ceremonies and work in line with Agile principles.

What we are looking for

  • Proven experience in a similar business analyst or payments-related role.
  • Hands-on experience with PL/SQL and Oracle databases, or comparable technologies.
  • Background in process analysis and process engineering.
  • Experience handling defect triage.
  • German language skills are a strong advantage.
  • Exposure to Agile methodologies is a plus.
  • ACCP certification would be considered an advantage.
