Role overview

Avaloq is hiring a detail-focused and analytical Business Analyst for its Web Banking team in Berlin, Germany. The role sits between business needs and technical delivery, requiring close cooperation with developers and stakeholders to turn requirements into practical banking solutions. The position contributes throughout the full software development lifecycle, including analysis, solution design, delivery, and support after implementation.

Your team

You will join a multinational, fast-moving group of software developers and business analysts working across several European locations. The team specializes in Avaloq’s Web Banking solutions for the German market and develops as well as enhances the relevant modules using agile methods and the Avaloq Core Platform, aligning the product with local market needs.

What you will do

• Study business needs and existing processes, then convert them into technical requirements and specifications.
• Create, record, and present well-structured business solutions for web banking platforms.
• Take an active part in implementation workshops and meetings with clients.
• Keep clients and internal teams informed with clear updates on progress, status, and deliverables.
• Assist development teams in building practical solutions that meet customer expectations.

Requirements

• Experience as a business analyst, or a strong background in banking or financial services.
• Solid analytical and troubleshooting abilities, including the capacity to think conceptually about complex business issues.
• Strong communication and client-facing skills, with the ability to translate business needs into technical language.
• A self-driven, proactive, and well-organized working style, along with a genuine interest in learning continuously.
• Fluent business-level German and English, both spoken and written.
• Experience in gathering requirements, documenting solutions, and managing stakeholders.
• Familiarity with agile development practices and iterative delivery approaches.
• Preferred background: degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Mathematics, Economics, or a similar field.
• Preferred experience: hands-on exposure to web banking application development or testing.
• Preferred experience: familiarity with banking software products or core banking systems.
• Preferred technical advantage: programming knowledge, especially PL/SQL.
