Job description
Overview
This opportunity is with a public-sector environment, where the role focuses on business analysis and IT project support. The position centers on collecting and translating requirements, helping with system implementation and steady-state operations, coordinating testing and delivery activities, and working closely with internal stakeholders and external vendors to keep systems running effectively.
Core Responsibilities
- Elicit, analyse, and record both business and technical needs, including user stories and end-to-end system flows.
- Assess current documentation, system design, and operating processes to help shape the proposed solution.
- Support project managers by monitoring progress, milestones, scope changes, and schedule adjustments.
- Assist in conducting requirements workshops and user acceptance testing activities.
- Contribute to system rollout, configuration, and ongoing optimisation work.
- Handle business-as-usual support, including production incidents, service requests, and escalation management.
- Follow up on vendor delivery, track performance, and ensure service levels are being met.
- Keep issue resolution moving and help clear operational roadblocks.
- Take on additional ad hoc duties as needed.
Requirements
- A degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or another relevant discipline.
- At least 4 years of experience in project management and/or business analysis, ideally within IT system implementation settings.
- Hands-on experience with requirements gathering, documentation, and test coordination.
- Working knowledge of Agile ways of working.
- Background in handling operational incidents, escalation workflows, and system support.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills, with solid stakeholder management ability.
- Comfort working with multiple stakeholders and external vendors.
- Preferred qualifications include PMP certification, CBAP, or an equivalent business analysis credential.
- Exposure to systems with multiple external integrations is a plus.
