Role overview
As a Business Analyst focused on Category Pricing, you will help strengthen the pricing analytics workstream at Whole Foods Market. The role is centered on building smarter pricing strategies for assigned categories, using data to recommend changes, support merchant decisions, and share actionable insights with business partners who may not have a technical background.
What you will do
- Review category pricing data and suggest price adjustments using pricing tools.
- Partner with pricing and merchandising leaders to set financial goals and competitive pricing rules.
- Help business stakeholders understand and make the most of pricing analytics platforms.
- Prepare and deliver analytical findings for merchandising leadership.
- Assess how well past pricing actions performed.
- Handle one-off pricing analysis requests when needed.
- Share pricing patterns and insights with cross-functional teams.
- Build category-level analysis tools and reports.
Day-to-day context
In day-to-day work, you will use a mix of metrics, objectives, and performance goals to create pricing recommendations for merchant stakeholders.

Qualifications
This role calls for a balance of analytical ability and communication strength. Basic qualifications
- Experience turning requirements, data, and metrics into actionable business insights.
- Familiarity with data visualization tools such as QuickSight, Tableau, Power BI, or similar BI platforms.
- At least 1 year of experience in a business analyst, data analyst, or comparable role.
- Bachelor’s degree or higher in a quantitative discipline such as statistics, mathematics, data science, business analytics, economics, finance, engineering, or computer science.
Preferred qualifications
- Working knowledge of Excel or SQL.
- Experience handling very large datasets.
- Background in financial analysis or broader business analysis.
Benefits and compensation
The base pay for this position in Austin, Texas ranges from USD 55,800 to USD 97,600 per year. Compensation may also include sign-on payments and restricted stock units. Final pay will depend on experience, qualifications, and location.
