Job description

Role overview

Amazon places strong emphasis on the wellbeing and safety of its workforce. In this position, you will help build and maintain a secure, healthy working environment at your assigned site. This is a practical, on-the-ground role where your actions directly support employee safety, confidence, and performance.

Key responsibilities

  • Track site performance against defined KPIs and develop improvement plans for processes.
  • Design and roll out workplace health and safety initiatives, including organising training sessions.
  • Review safety data and incident patterns to help teams plan resources for high-risk areas.
  • Conduct audits to confirm compliance with applicable health and safety regulations and put corrective measures in place when risks are identified.

What your day may look like

You will work onsite at one of the company’s fulfilment centres, sortation centres, or delivery stations. Being physically present allows you to monitor operations closely, identify possible hazards early, and find opportunities to improve safety and compliance. You will collaborate with colleagues across the business, use data to understand risk, and support the rollout of training and other programmes that help teams adopt safer ways of working.

About the team

The Workplace Health and Safety team is responsible for protecting both the physical and mental wellbeing of employees. The group partners with managers, associates, and local authorities to ensure company policies and legal requirements are met and that all sites remain safe.

The team offers a variety of paths, from Health and Safety Technicians to Program Managers. Depending on the role, you may contribute to projects involving inspections of equipment and processes, reviews of operational workflows, and assessments of building and equipment design.

Basic qualifications

  • A bachelor’s degree, or an equivalent qualification aligned with the European Qualifications Framework.
  • ASPP or RSPP certification.
  • Good understanding of Italian environment, health, and safety legislation.
  • Advanced command of both Italian and English.

Preferred experience

  • Background in Lean, 5S, or Kaizen methods.
  • Experience planning or managing environmentally responsible initiatives.

Equal opportunity and privacy

The employer follows an equal-opportunity hiring approach and considers candidates based on experience and skills. A diverse workforce is viewed as an important part of organisational success. Candidate data privacy and security are treated as a priority. Applicants with disabilities may request workplace accommodations or adjustments during the application, interview, or onboarding process through the relevant accommodations process.
