Job description

Overview

Deloitte is looking for a Business Analyst - AI to join its Enabling Area / AI team in Mumbai. The role is centered on turning data and AI opportunities into practical business outcomes using modern analytics and GenAI capabilities such as retrieval-augmented generation and large language model integrations. It is a chance to work with senior teams, contribute to impactful solutions, and help shape the future of AI-enabled delivery.

What you'll do

  • Conduct stakeholder discussions, workshops, and process walkthroughs to capture and document functional and non-functional needs in formats such as BRDs, user stories, and acceptance criteria.
  • Analyze business gaps, assess feasibility, and connect business objectives to product capabilities through traceability.
  • Contribute to the vision and roadmap for AI-driven features and help prioritize the backlog based on value, feasibility, and delivery risk.
  • Facilitate Agile ceremonies including refinement sessions, sprint planning, and reviews, while keeping release plans and OKRs well maintained.
  • Convert business use cases into GenAI/LLM solutions, including RAG approaches, prompt design, and evaluation criteria, working closely with data science and ML engineers.
  • Partner with platform teams to manage data readiness, model monitoring, and governance considerations such as security, privacy, and cost/performance.
  • Present increments to stakeholders, validate requirements, coordinate UAT with business users, and support adoption through playbooks, guides, and training material.
  • Share progress, risks, and mitigation plans with leadership and support post-launch review and ongoing improvement.
  • Maintain key project artefacts such as journey maps, process flows, personas, wireframes, and QA/test plans with QA leads.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Technology, or Business; an MBA is considered an added advantage.
  • About 3 to 5 years of experience in product or business analysis roles.
  • Strong experience in requirements gathering, backlog ownership, and Agile delivery in enterprise environments.
  • Comfort using tools such as Jira, Azure DevOps, and Confluence, along with Microsoft Office for analysis and communication.
  • Working understanding of AI concepts, including LLMs, GenAI, RAG patterns, evaluation methods, guardrails, and data governance.
  • Ability to work across Data Science, Engineering, and UX teams with strong stakeholder communication skills.
  • Preferred exposure to prompt design, GenAI evaluation, vector databases, or model lifecycle activities such as training, deployment, and monitoring.
  • Exposure to cloud platforms such as AWS, Azure, or GCP and modern data or ML tooling is an advantage.

Additional information

Working model: Hybrid, with flexibility to work from the office or client sites for workshops, demos, and UAT as needed.

Success metrics

  • Speed of requirement finalization from intake to signed-off user stories.
  • Backlog quality and sprint goal achievement.
  • Adoption and satisfaction for delivered features.
  • Model performance and cost efficiency for AI features.
  • Low defect leakage and strong UAT pass rates.
