This position operates within the Portfolio Servicing Platform team and is critical in maintaining accurate, timely, and efficient trade processing and settlement across OMERS' investment portfolios. By ensuring data integrity and smooth transaction processing, you will facilitate strong collaboration among portfolio managers, traders, custodians, finance, and technology teams. Your participation will also include contributing to system upgrades, process enhancements, and support for new product launches.
Responsibilities
- Engage in projects utilizing Agile and Waterfall methodologies for system improvements and platform integrations.
- Assist the Platform Owner with backlog management, roadmap planning, and prioritization efforts.
- Conduct comprehensive business analysis throughout the project lifecycle.
- Collaborate with relevant stakeholders to collect and document detailed requirements.
- Define clear project scope, deliverables, and timeframes.
- Create and maintain reports and dashboards using SQL, Power BI, and SSRS.
- Design and implement testing strategies, including integration and performance evaluations.
- Support organizational change management through training and communication initiatives.
- Work closely with technology departments during system enhancements and upgrades.
- Prepare and update documentation and knowledge base materials.
- Analyze operational challenges, identify underlying causes, and propose effective solutions.
- Recommend improvements to business analysis methods and delivery standards.
- Establish strong relationships with stakeholders to promote cooperation and collaborative success.
Required Qualifications and Experience
- Between one and three years of experience as a business analyst in the investment systems domain.
- Proficiency with SQL and Excel for analytical tasks.
- Experience in gathering requirements, mapping processes, and developing user stories.
- Familiarity with tools such as Azure DevOps, Visio, and Power BI.
- Understanding of the investment lifecycle including exchange-traded and OTC products.
- Exceptional attention to detail and a solid grasp of end-to-end processes.
- Strong communication capabilities and experience managing multiple stakeholders.
- Ability to thrive in dynamic, collaborative environments.
Preferred Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in relevant fields such as Computer Science, Finance, or Engineering.
- CPA or CFA credentials (completed or in progress).
- Certifications in Business Analysis, Change Management, or Project Management are advantageous.
- Prior exposure to investment platforms such as Calypso, SimCorp, or Aladdin.
- Experience in advanced analytics and reporting.
- A growth mindset and eagerness for continuous improvement.
- Capability to manage ambiguity and balance multiple competing priorities.
- Strong ownership mentality and commitment to high standards of delivery.
Additional Information
OMERS values team presence in the office, with a flexible hybrid policy requiring a minimum of four days per week on-site. This role fills an existing vacancy.
The anticipated annual salary ranges from 72000 to 108000 CAD. Compensation may also include annual incentive awards under the Short-term and Long-term Incentive plans, along with group benefits and retirement plans as detailed in offer communications.
