Analyst/Senior Analyst, Global Credit, Asia Pacific

About the role

OMERS is hiring for an Analyst or Senior Analyst to join its Asia Credit team in Singapore. The team invests across APAC private and public high-yield credit markets, with a strong emphasis on delivering absolute returns through disciplined credit investing.

The role suits someone with experience in credit structuring or investing, particularly within Asia Pacific and especially in non-public markets. The work involves deep research, transaction evaluation, underwriting, and managing investments after closing. The team values intellectual curiosity, clear thinking, healthy debate, and a collaborative mindset.

Responsibilities

• Originate and help assess credit opportunities, including issuer and asset selection, diligence, and preparation of investment cases.
• Track and review portfolio positions across both private and public investments.
• Own assigned sectors and markets, and be responsible for presenting and defending investment views.
• Support diligence and transaction documentation for private credit deals.
• Contribute to open, rigorous investment discussions and challenge ideas constructively.
• Work with investment colleagues across OMERS global offices to share knowledge and strengthen collaboration.

Candidate profile

The ideal applicant brings 4 to 6 years of relevant experience from leveraged finance, investment banking, or the buy-side. A strong command of credit analysis is required, along with the ability to assess the full capital structure. Familiarity with leveraged finance and loan markets is important.

Applicants should have a proven history of underwriting private-market transactions in Asia, experience in evaluating and recommending deals, and the ability to present arguments in a structured and persuasive way. Strong understanding of credit structures, covenants, and asset coverage is essential, as is the ability to build relationships within the capital markets community.

The role also calls for strong interpersonal skills, initiative, and a practical, action-oriented approach. A university degree in economics, business, a quantitative field, or engineering is expected.
