Position Overview

As a Budtender, you will be the central figure of the dispensary, responsible for educating customers, developing authentic connections, and ensuring each visit is pleasant, safe, and memorable. This role goes beyond retail by making a meaningful impact on clients who use cannabis for recreational or medicinal purposes. VIBE supports its Budtenders with investment in their growth and advancement opportunities.

Key Responsibilities

• Warmly greet and welcome every customer with professionalism and sincere care.
• Provide accurate, confident, and empathetic guidance about cannabis products, usage methods, appropriate dosing, effects, and safety measures.
• Efficiently and accurately handle sales transactions using the dispensary's point-of-sale system.
• Verify customer and patient identification, ensuring compliance with legal age requirements, purchase limits, and state regulations.
• Maintain up-to-date knowledge of the entire product catalog, including new items, pricing, and promotional deals.
• Keep the sales floor clean, orderly, and inviting throughout the shift.
• Adhere strictly to all policies mandated by the Department of Health and Senior Services Division of Cannabis Regulation (DHSS-DCR) during all customer interactions.
• Work closely with colleagues and supervisors to maintain smooth, consistent service throughout the dispensary.
• Support a workplace culture focused on learning, continuous improvement, and mutual assistance.

Qualifications

• Must be at least 21 years old in compliance with Missouri DHSS-DCR requirements.
• Required to obtain and retain a valid Missouri Facility Agent ID through DHSS-DCR/MyComplia before employment begins.
• Previous experience in retail, hospitality, or customer service is desirable.
• Passion for cannabis, wellness, community, and education.
• Strong interpersonal skills with a friendly, approachable manner and a natural curiosity.
• Ability to absorb, retain, and confidently communicate detailed product information.
• Comfortable using POS systems and possessing basic math capabilities; prior cannabis POS experience is advantageous.
• Availability to work a flexible schedule including evenings, weekends, and holidays.
• Ability to stand for prolonged periods during shifts.

Preferred Skills

• Experience working in a cannabis dispensary or wellness retail setting.
• Knowledge of cannabis strains, cannabinoids, terpenes, and consumption methods.
• Bilingual candidates are encouraged to apply.

Compensation and Benefits

• Starting pay is $17.30 per hour.
