Brazing / FIC Technician

Role overview

This position focuses on the safe operation, oversight, and upkeep of high-temperature vacuum furnaces and related atomization systems. The technician supports metal-processing activities by preparing inputs, running furnace controls, maintaining product and process quality, and carrying out routine maintenance in line with safety, environmental, and quality standards.

What you will do

• Carry out cleaning, inspection, monitoring, and securing activities needed to prepare the vacuum atomization furnace for operation.
• Support the preparation of raw material charges and help run the furnace control panel.
• Input program data and modify equipment parameters such as temperature, timing, and atmospheric settings, including gas introduction or evacuation, according to requirements.
• Run and supervise multiple furnaces in accordance with NQWI 4.09.2.16 standards.
• Produce certified parts efficiently while meeting quality and process expectations.
• Choose the correct tools, fixtures, and programs to anneal and harden different metal parts and components.
• Assemble and braze metal and ceramic parts using different brazing alloys.
• Complete minor repairs on furnaces, atomization chambers, and supporting equipment.
• Clean atomization chambers, furnace interiors, crucibles, and O-ring seals.
• Assist with connecting and disconnecting gas, electrical, and water lines to furnace lids and tanks.

What you need

• High school diploma or GED equivalent.
• At least 2 years of experience working with vacuum furnaces.
• Good mechanical understanding and the ability to perform basic mathematical conversions.
• Comfort using basic computer software and applications.
• Willingness and ability to work with equipment operating at very high temperatures.
• Availability to work overtime when operational demands require it.
