Job description
About Assembled
Assembled provides a single platform that helps companies coordinate customer support across human teams and AI. It is used by organizations such as Canva, Etsy, and Robinhood to manage in-house support agents, outsourced teams, and AI-driven workflows together. The platform includes AI Agents that can resolve cases end to end, AI Copilot for agent support, and AI-powered workforce management tools that help teams plan human and AI capacity more effectively. The company is funded by $71M from NEA, Emergence Capital, and Stripe.
The Role
Assembled is hiring a Brand Designer to shape visual work that stands out quickly and remains cohesive across every brand touchpoint, including conference booths, email campaigns, and more. This role sits within the Marketing team and plays a major part in evolving the company’s brand during a repositioning phase. The foundation already exists, but there is plenty of room to refine, expand, and elevate it.
This is a hands-on, high-impact position that sits between brand strategy and execution. You will help create design systems that are built for an AI-native workflow, meaning work should be structured so it can be repeated, automated, handed off to agents, or executed by teammates without constant direct oversight. The goal is to make routine production more efficient so more time can be spent on creative problem-solving.
This position is based in person five days a week in Assembled’s offices in Mission, San Francisco, and Chelsea Market, New York.
Responsibilities
- Steer Assembled’s visual identity in a marketing setting, including the brand system, design language, typography, color, motion, and related elements.
- Create and direct major marketing assets such as website pages, email campaigns, event materials, advertisements, swag, and sales collateral.
- Develop AI-ready design systems with templates, source files, component libraries, and usage guidelines that can be executed dependably by AI tools and teammates.
- Streamline repetitive production work, such as asset resizing, templated collateral, social media variations, and email layouts, so more time can be devoted to higher-level creative work.
- Turn positioning and messaging into creative concepts that connect with customer experience and support leaders who value clarity over hype.
- Drive creative direction for campaigns, product launches, and events from early concepting through final execution.
- Set the quality standard for creative output and coordinate effectively with designers, contractors, and agency partners.
Requirements
- Five to eight years of experience in brand design or creative direction, ideally at a fast-growing startup or an agency serving B2B technology clients.
- A portfolio that demonstrates both distinctive brand thinking and practical marketing work focused on conversion.
- Comfort using AI tools in day-to-day creative workflows, with a willingness to keep testing new applications and approaches.
- Strong strategic thinking and the ability to turn unclear inputs into clear creative direction.
- Advanced skill with Adobe tools and Figma; experience with motion or video is beneficial.
- Experience creating and documenting design systems that can be used effectively by a team in real-world conditions.
- Strong ownership, speed in execution, and good judgment about when to decide independently versus align with others.
- A collaborative working style with the ability to receive feedback well, offer constructive input, and work with stakeholders without relying on committee-style design.
Perks and Benefits
- Comprehensive medical, dental, and vision coverage.
- Paid company holidays, paid sick leave, and unlimited PTO.
- Monthly credits for professional development, general wellness, Assembled customers, and commuting.
- Paid parental leave.
- Daily catered lunch Monday through Friday, plus a fully stocked kitchen.
- 401(k) enrollment.
- Stock options as part of the compensation package.
Compensation
The expected base salary for this position is between $150,000 and $190,000 per year. Actual compensation may differ based on location, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. In addition to salary, the package includes stock options and access to the company’s medical, financial, and other benefits depending on the final offer.
Eligibility and Additional Information
Applicants are encouraged to apply even if they do not meet every listed qualification. Assembled welcomes candidates who believe they can contribute meaningfully to the company and values a diverse, inclusive workplace where people can do their best work.
