Overview
An opportunity is available with an award-winning, mid-sized professional services firm located in the city fringe of Melbourne. The business has a progressive culture and places a strong emphasis on employee engagement and development.
In this role, you will handle bookkeeping for more than 30 clients while working alongside the accounting and advisory teams. You will also be provided with the tools and support needed to perform well in the position.
Role summary
- Take ownership of payroll processing from start to finish, including payroll tax obligations.
- Track and manage job budgets, timesheets, and related administrative records.
- Prepare quarterly and monthly Business Activity Statements (BAS).
- Compile and review monthly reporting outputs.
- Manage accounts payable and accounts receivable tasks.
- Carry out Xero conversions and new system setups where required.
Candidate profile
- Previous bookkeeping experience is required, ideally at least 2 years in an accounting or bookkeeping firm.
- Hands-on knowledge of awards and their application in payroll situations is needed.
- Strong practical experience with Xero and MYOB is essential.
- You should be comfortable preparing and reviewing BAS, profit and loss statements, cash flow statements, and balance sheet reports.
